New information & pics of modernized T-90

This is the export-oriented modernized T-90S on the pictures. New modernization of T-90 named T-90AM for domestic army is slightly different. It has new 2A82 125 mm MG (2A46M-5 for export version) with improved autoloader allowing long rods using, with 22 ready to use rounds (40 rounds all), 70% better barrel lifspan. -10 - 45 grad vertical and 316 grad horizontal angle

Turret FCS complex called 'Kalina' has panoramic commander view PK PAN with IR camera, and gunner view PNM Sosna-U. Remote controlled 7.62 turret UDP T05BV-1, GLONASS+inertial navigation, improved radio (two independent stations) and tactical awareness system.
V-93 1130 hp engine giving 23 hp\t (for 49 t tank), steering wheel & automatic gear, chassis sensory control system. 

The ERA is Relict for improved performance against tandem rounds, maximal distance of penetration for APFSDS rods М829А2 is - 1km, М829А3 –  1,2km (NII Stali). +Shtora-2 modernized soft kill APS for incoming ATGMs. The APU is alternatively of two types:  5 kWt DGU5-P27.5V-VM1, or 7 kWt DGU7-P27.5V-VM1. Track pressure - 0.98 kg/cm2. The tank was promised early to be shown in N-Tagil show in 8-12 Sep.

Tank news

The pictures of Object 195 ("T-95") have appeared in Internet. The almost certainly uninhabited turret is seen on them. High caliber (most probably 152 mm) MG, 7-rolls chassis, ADS installations on the turret.

T-90ME was demonstrated first time


The export version of modernized T-90M tank was demonstrated for Russian PM Putin today in 'UVZ plant (N-Tagil). The tank has a new, bigger turrets,
- 'Relict' ERA on the turret (but not on the hull),
- a new panoramic commander sight with 360 degree vision,
- new commander hatch with better accessability
- different placement of the air conditioner
- new tracks
-  stronger rolls and some improvement in the chassis
- possibly 1200 hp engine

T-90S tests in India and Malaysia

This video is from the Russian 'Culture' TV-channel program about the national tank industry. The fragments of T-90S tests in Malaysia and India are demonstrated. A man from UVZ, which took part in T-90 program speaks about these trials. The essentials of his interview:
1) T-90S has overcome the most hard sectors of the route which deterred the Ukrainian T-84.
2) Crew was able to extract and fix up the engine in the field conditions.
3) Pakistan T-80UD purchasing pushed India to seek more advance tanks abroad.
4) For India T-90S is a second deterrence factor after nuclear weapon (cited an Indian General words).

BPM-97 with new turrets


- This is a presentation of Russian 'Muromteplovoz's BPM-97 (KAMAZ-43269) armored vehicle with two different turrets for an Arabic delegation. These are 30 mm 2A42 cannon/30 mm AGS-17/7.62 mm PKT and 12.7 mm 'Kord' turrets. BPM-97 – is a new light armored vehicle on the Russian Army, FSB and internal service. It has all around protection against 12,7 mm. However, it's landmine protection is relatively limited comparing to American MRAPs or the Russian SPM-3 vehicle of MRAP class.
