The Russian researchers go further for developing more advances compounds and technologies for an anti-radar covering. As it's well known, the airframe and the shipframe stealth geometry gives only a partial answer for the contemporary radar development. Only the centimeter and millimeter long radar waves are effectively deflected by such method while the L-band radars progress is remained the growing treat for military devices. Other complimentary methods are composite use and covering.
The usually used antiradar materials are the resins and paints with ferromagnetic. The new nano-metric anti-radar covering is much more light and stable. It's made with magneto-dielectric layering 2-80 nm thick on a high temperature-steady material. The radar-absorption is about 10 Db in 8-80 GHz diapason, i.e. lg (P1/P2) = 1, while P1 – is the incoming radar power and P2 – the reflected. By the formula with these materials the RCS can be reduced 10 times. Its relative mass is as 1 – 1.5 kg/m2. High resistance against climatic factors is provided. They have the one-layer structure instead of usually 5-6.
This new technology can be used not only for RCS reducing, but for side-lobe radiation reducing on the radars, raising their effectiveness. The military electronics can be defended from radio splashes and an unsanctioned communication access by this way. Personal isolation from the dangerous radar microwaves can be provided too by this method.
The potential of this technology allows creating ant-radar materials with working diapason of 1 – 300 GHz. The implementation of it on the 4th+ generation fighters' fleet could prolong its service while the 5th generation planes are yet to be produced or too costly for some customers.
Hi Igorr,
ReplyDeleteDoes India is working on any Radar coating using nano materials?
One more question, If we acquired the single crystal blade technology from Russia, why are we unable to create a Aero engine? Where exactly are we failing in creating a new engine?
to anon October 11, 2009 11:35 AM :
ReplyDelete1) I'm sure yes according to common sense. However, have no specific information, so cannot estimate how far they're advanced in researches.
2) Without 'if' already. There were repeated confirmations about this in media, including the links in my text above. It's despite some of the well known bloggers aggressively denied this fact, saying 'nobody will give such a critical engine technology to Indians'. By this logic nobody could give for India also the cryo-engine and the nuclear propelled submarine technologies because US refused to do so.
Therefore, the problems of ADA DRDO lie in other issues. THere are thousands of problems needed to be resolved. THe gas-turbine engine is a most complicated device even made by the human beings. The single crystal technology isn't an ultimate answer to all questions.
upd: I meant the link which confirms ToT was provided for the single crystal technology, in my early post in this blog: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showpost.php?p=1471619&postcount=610
ReplyDeleteDear Igor...
ReplyDeleteI am not much of a technical person...but your blog is awesome.Simplicity at its best. The best part is your modesty...you anser every question thrown at you.Good job man!!!
Eagerly waiting for any updates on PAKFA.

Igor any leads in Russian press regarding India's Defence Minister's visit to Moscow from 13th Oct? What are the agenda's?
ReplyDeleteto Manish Kumar:
ReplyDeleteDo you mean a political agenda? I think they want to counterbalance the development with China, the SCO summit Oct.13 in Beijing. Since China is becoming closer to US-Japan with the last Tokio's 'East Asian Community' idea, Russia tries to be at least on the same line of development with Delhi. Apart with 10 year prolongation for military strategic treaty in December, they need to prepare the documents for signing I guess.

ReplyDeleteThanks for your appreciation! Hope we'll see the PAKFA prototype in the fly till year end as was promised.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThe layout of the page is much better. From new agencies can you let us know the number of T-90 tanks purchased by India. The author of trishulgroup.blogspot.com states that the money for last order (or future order) of 400 T-90 tanks
will used to purchase latest T-95 tanks. Can you confirm?
Igor any news of todays developments with respect to our Defence Minister's visit which began today? Eagerly awaiting news from your end.

ReplyDelete124 T-90S of-the-shelf, 186 - in semi-knocked down conditions and 1000 will be produced in India during 10 years (have started soon). It's according to RosoboronExport.
From those 1000 - 347 were contracted finally and 10 from them - were transferred to IA in August.
there is no plans for export T-95 to India. Both states are going to develop a FMBT together instead. The negotiations about this is continuing.
ReplyDeleteto Manish Kumar:
ReplyDeleteOnly preliminary results are known.
- PAKFA and MTA programs together will be financed by $10.6 bil. each side.
- More 3 FFGs Talwar-II class is confirmed, not less than $1.7 bil.
- Russia follows to ask $2 bil. above the initial price for Gorshkov, isn't finalized yet.
- Brahmos-2 program is confirmed on the state level, Brahmos on MKI too.
- Nerpa transfer is confirmed for 2010.
- India pressures for FGFA program accelleration with 2017 on service, period.
Hi Igorr,
ReplyDeleteDo you feel that India-Russia relations has taken a back seat after the Indo-US nuclear deal? If that is so, then it is not a positive development. There are vast oppurtunites to be explored with Russia. Why doesn't India-Russia economic relationship take off? Your comments please.
Hi Igorr
ReplyDeleteRegarding the next batch of Talwar class frigates(i canot copy and paste what you wrote above) i.e 6+3, it was long reported in trishulgroup.blogspot.com. The author is a defence journalist having extensive contacts in defence ministry including .......
If you look closely,
3 talwar class frigates
Additional order of MKI,
Additional Orders of T-90
spread over 2 five year plans.
these are h

ReplyDeleteboth countries still lack an aggressive export politics. it's not a problem of relationship but the internal problem of both countries.
to anon October 14, 2009 12:31 PM:
ReplyDelete6+3 Talwar class - indeed it's a long ago spoken issue, even before it appeared in Prasun's blog, but not all things become contracts at the end, so any additional confirmation adds probability for this.
Mr. Igor I just found this website while searching for India's capability for single crystal blade technology. I have just one question and I hope you will respond . Can you let me know what are the test results of the Kaveri engine which was sent to Moscow in September? Was the high altitude test was successful?
ReplyDeleteto Jack:
ReplyDeleteI have no information about this and can be sure were it was in Russian I would known. I think we rather expect report about the tests outcome from ADA and GTRE than from Russians. This is a commercial secret first of all, which the Russian side will not publish before Indians.
Dear Igor,
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for your valuable response. Keep it up your good work and may God wishes all success in your life. Thanks again.
Regards
Jack
Hello Igor,
ReplyDeleteIt is generally believed that Stealth is 80% design and 20% composites . Russian scientists however had suggested that Plasma Stealth could be used to provide far better stealth to aircrafts than what we have seen so far .
Here in India I know for a fact that no such research is going on . Emphasis is been put on paints for stealth aircrafts.
Do you have any information as to how far research in Plasma Stealth has been carried out in Russia .
Thanks & Regards,
Debajit
Congratulations to Rusian Inventors
